Scots have been playing golf since the 15th century, and Scotland is still the dream destination for avid golfers from St. Andrews hallowed grounds to over 500 other exquisite links. Find culture and beautiful architecture that span the ages in chic Glasgow and in the capital Edinburgh with its attractive medieval feel. The country’s many castles and cathedrals are incomparable and the Scottish Highlands are rugged and romantic. And top all these visual delights by following one of the many Scottish Whisky Trails for visions of a different sort. There is plenty of adventures to be had in wild and beautiful Scotland even if you never catch a glimpse of Nessie….
ABOUT
The clients will arrive in Edinburgh and male their way to Fort William. We recommend a nice leisurely walk in the quaint town. Overnight at the hotel in Fort William.
On the second day, guests can explore the wonders of Glen Nevis and Steall Falls. A great guided walk for families and all ages. Glen Nevis is one of the most picturesque of all glens. This leads not just along the foot of the Ben itself but past the stunning ridges of the mamores and through the dramatic Nevis Gorge to Steall Falls. Overnight at the hotel in Fort William.
The third day will be dedicated to exploring Loch Ness, in the hope of running into Ness, its most famous inhabitant. The Loch Ness cruise will allow guests to enjoy the magnificent panorama of the lake and surrounding mountains and, at the end of the cruise, guests will come ashore to admire the awe-inspiring ruins of the Urquhart Caste. At the end of the day, guests will reach Inverness for the night.
After visiting Inverness, guests will travel to Aviemore. Upon arrival and after a brief walk, guests will arrive at Rothiermurchus Fishery for a fly fishing lesson. The fishery, with its stocked lochs, is set in spectacular surrondings, with dramatic views of the Cairngorm Mountains. Our fly fishing lesson includes expert tuition for 1.5 hours followed by 1.5 hours fishing. Wether guests are an absolute beginners or experiences anglers, lessons can be tailored to match your ability. At the end of the day, guests will travel to Pitlochry for the night.
On the fifth day, guests will experience the Mountain Safari. Armed with cameras and binoculas, they will climb aboard our Land Rover or Pinzgauer and journey to the high tops through a land sculpted by the elements and steeped in history, culture, nature and breathtaking views withno shortage of photo opportunities. Guest may even be lucky enough to see the Majestic Red Deer, the Fanous Grouse, the elusive Mountain Hare or the soaring Golden Eagle as they travel through forests, mountains and moors on private hill tracks. Included in the Mountain Safari are tea, coffee, Kenmore shortbread and a dram of Dewars whisky in one of our Mountain Bothies, surrounded on all sides by inspiring mountains views.
After leaving Pitlochry, guests will visit the gallery and shop of Heathergems, with its imaginative range of Scottish jewelry and giftware, made in Pitlochry (Scotland) from natural heather stems. Guests will be able to watch as skilled workers, through their craft, transform this natural material into produced. Finally, visit Scone Palace in Perth, which houses a large collection of antiquities, paintings and rare artifacts. Today’s itinerary will end in the jewel city of Scotland, Edinburgh.
Edinburgh, an unmissable stop on a tour of Scotland, is a city rich in history and culture. The old city, which still retains its medieval structure, was in fact declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are several monuments and historic buildings not to be missed, including:
- the castle, which dominates the city from above
- the Gothic Cathedral of San Giles
- the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the ancient residence of the Scottish Royal house
- the Scott monument, dedicated to the wrtier of the same name.
The group will then move to the New Lanark Mills Village. The village was founded in the late 1700s by date, thanks to renovation works, visitors can immerse themselves in the same atmosphere of the time, in this Heritage jewel.
At the end of the visit, guest will travel directly to either Edinburgh or Glasgow airport, for the return flight home.
